ALL PRIVATE YOGA/CONSULTATIONS ARE CURRENTLY OCCURRING VIRTUALLY

Private one-on-one yoga sessions are ideal for anyone interested in a customized practice based on individual need or fitness level. Private sessions are appropriate for all levels. This style of practicing can help a beginner yogi learn the foundational poses in the comfort of a private setting with individualized attention. One-on-ones can also benefit an advanced yogi looking to deepen their practice, physically and mentally. Private yoga often appeals to those wanting more therapeutic and tailored approaches to practicing or those interested in developing an at-home practice under a teacher’s guidance.

At this time, private yoga sessions will occur via Zoom or Skype.

Here are the new brief session options & reduced rates!

  • 30 minute sessions
    • $20
    • Buy 5 $75
  • 60 minute sessions

Consultation sessions are appropriate for those who have at least some prior yoga experience and are looking to gain a customized, personal yoga program. These sessions are briefer than a typical one-on-one private yoga session and will focus on developing specific yogic techniques that you can do on your own time, at your own pace.

  • During your initial 60-minute intake, I will take into consideration your current physical, mental, and emotional state in order to develop your personalized practice. We will discuss your goals and collaboratively create a plan for achieving them! I will provide you with initial practical tools that you can utilize immediately. As needed, we will do brief experiential practices to ensure you have a solid foundation to proceed on your own. After your initial session, you will receive a more detailed written feedback with practice recommendations and instructions.
  • Your follow-up session will allow us to get the most of your experience. During the follow-up, we will discuss any questions you have and troubleshoot any difficulties you’re facing. Additional experiential practices and/or at home practice tools will be provided as you progress and as you desire.
  • Additional consultations are available and encouraged as we continue to advance your personal physical and emotional well-being.

Workshops

Up! series

Stand by for dates for the next workshop series!

Listen Up! @Heartland Yoga

Date: TBD

Cost: $35

Space is limited. To secure your spot, register in advance.

Listen Up! Your body has been talking to you, but your mind has been bossing you around. When the mind gets bossy, it gets LOUD. Even worse, it repeats many of the same messages you thought about yesterday. “You’re not doing enough,” “Your body isn’t good enough,” “(Insert the ‘you’re not enough’ message here).” It makes sense that we’re easily compelled to take our thoughts as truth: When we view our mind as the boss, we look to it for guidance and feedback. We do what we need to in order to placate it: reassure it, reason with it, or give it more problems to solve (its favorite activity). What happens when we serve our mind instead of our body? We get run down, sick, exhausted, anxious, depressed, and so on. Your mind will tell you lies, but your body will tell the truth, so Listen Up!

Who is this workshop for?

Do you struggle with indecisiveness, over-efforting, and feeling run down in your physical and mental health? Do you ever wish you could turn down the volume on self-doubt and negative thoughts? This workshop is for you if you’re interested in gaining a boost to more confidently, effectively, and wisely make the best decisions for your physical and mental health. Developing practical skills to quiet the mind and listen to your body will transform how you approach your daily life, relationships, and health. All people and levels of yoga experience welcome.

What will you learn?

In this two-hour workshop that blends psychological-science with yoga, you will learn practical tools to “listen up” to your body- to get out of your head and into your life! The mind thrives on our fast-paced daily lives that are jam-packed with stress and to-do lists. We find ourselves caught up in thoughts bossing us around to do more, push ahead, and ignore what we really need: to reset, restore, and refresh. In order to recognize this though, we have to start listening!  Class will integrate research-based informational tools and experiential training, resulting in a transformative practice that you can immediately begin using in your daily life. You will also receive a self-care “tool kit” to bring home!

Lighten Up! @Heartland Yoga

Date: TBD

Lighten Up! We often meet the message with resistance, even when we know it’s true. It’s hard to let go of what we’re used to, even if what we’re used to is tension, stress, and “over-efforting.” We tend to make faulty causal assumptions based on our associated experiences. For example, stress and success often become associated, leading to the idea that in order to be successful, we must be stressed, tense, anxious, afraid, and constantly prepared for the next thing to weigh us down. Have you ever noticed that you feel guilty if you’re not stressed, wondering if it means you aren’t working hard enough at the moment? Typically, we respond to this cycle through avoidance. We avoid an unpleasant feeling such as guilt, shame, or regret by adding more work, more problems to solve, and go on the hunt for something to make us “feel better,” something to “get rid” of the negative feeling or numb out. By doing so, we add even more obstacles! Instead of looking inward, we look outward…because that is what we’re used to and we like certainty. However, there is a much more effective way to show up for your life and it doesn’t require adding anything. It requires taking stock of what’s within and shedding what no longer serves you in moving toward a meaningful life.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is for anyone interested in gaining a boost to help clear out their internal “junk drawer.” All people and levels of yoga experience welcome.

What will you learn?

In this two-hour workshop that blends psychological-science with yoga, you will learn practical tools to “lighten up,” from the inside out. The daily events of life can quickly weigh us down if we don’t develop the necessary tools to hit the “reset” button and clear out the internal clutter. Class will integrate research-based informational tools and experiential training, resulting in a transformative practice that you can immediately begin using in your daily life.
