People come to yoga for many reasons. Some are looking for a vigorous physical practice. Others are looking to recover from injury through stretching and strengthening. For others still, it may be that their physician or therapist recommended it, given the increasing recognition of yoga’s promising effects on physical and mental health. Regardless of the reason, we all find that yoga is more than just a physical practice.
It is a transformative experience that gives us practical tools to live more fully, to work more effectively, and to tap into the deep wisdom our bodies hold. By developing the skills to trust in the body, we can begin to let go of the stories and thought patterns that no longer serve us. We can begin to more truthfully answer the question, “Who am I?”
